Gastón Reggio

Gastón Reggio is an Uruguayan musician, educator and composer who has studied with renowned drummers Osvaldo Fattoruso and Pipi Piazzolla among many others in Uruguay and Argentina. In 2012 he moved to Brazil where he got a degree in Brazilian Music and Jazz at the Conservatory of Tatuí in São Paulo. He moved to the United States in 2019, first living in Michigan and finally settling in the Raleigh-Durham area in 2021 where he began playing in local groups such as Também, Caique Vidal & Batuque, and The Rebecca Kleinmann Quintet. Over the last fifteen years he has worked as a music educator and presented numerous workshops on Brazilian rhythms. He has performed in countless festivals, theaters, schools, and venues across Uruguay, Brazil, and the United States and has recorded over twenty albums, working as a major collaborator on many of them. He has also recorded two albums of his own original music: Do Interiô (2019) and Michigan (2024)
