Running Out
Crash Anxiety
Overview
“Running Out (feat. Mancuso)” is the first single from alternative rock outfit Crash Anxiety, a raw and urgent track that blends aching vulnerability with explosive energy. Drawing influence from post-grunge textures, the atmospheric grit of Incubus, and the emotional intensity of Thrice, the song balances soaring melodies with driving instrumentation.
Lyrically, “Running Out (feat. Mancuso)” is a confessional letter left unsent—an outpouring of fear, longing, and self-discovery. The verses unravel a sense of internal conflict and unspoken truth, while the chorus bursts with cathartic release, echoing the desperation of love, loss, and the search for identity.
Crash Anxiety captures the tension between fragility and strength, pairing brooding verses with anthemic choruses and layered guitar work. The track’s dynamic rise and fall mirrors its themes: feeling consumed by someone else, yet fighting to reclaim one’s own voice.
With “Running Out (feat. Mancuso),” Crash Anxiety carves out a space in modern alternative rock that is both deeply personal and universally resonant—an anthem for anyone who’s struggled with silence, pain, and the urgent need to move forward.

Running Out (R.Cotelo - M.Gaviglio)
With “Running Out (feat. Mancuso),” Crash Anxiety delivers a track that feels as expansive as its origin story. Known throughout the Montevideo music scene for his versatility, Mancuso takes center stage with a commanding vocal performance, while Catatumbo’s piercing background screams heighten the emotional urgency. Anchoring the song’s pulse, Marco Messina lays down a driving bass line alongside Dan Swanstrom’s thunderous drum work, creating a rhythmic core that fuels the single’s explosive energy.
At the heart of the track is Rodrigo Cotelo, whose guitars carve both grit and atmosphere while his production ties every layer into a powerful whole. Cotelo, who penned the lyrics during a coastal drive down California’s Highway 1 with his longtime drummer friend Martin Gaviglio, captures the raw introspection of a letter never sent.
Recorded across three countries—Instru Dash Mental Studios in Indiana, Berequetum in Montevideo, and Bear Face Studios in Maine—the single reflects Crash Anxiety’s international identity. The final touches were delivered by Messina’s meticulous mix and multiple Grammy winner Julio Berta’s mastering, balancing unfiltered emotion with a polished edge.
