After a four-year silence since their critically acclaimed and Graffiti Awards–nominated 2021 album Moments and Fragments, #Bloomerangs are set to release their new single “Satisfallidos” on April 30, when it will become available across all major streaming platforms. The track marks a significant return for the project led by composer and producer Rodrigo Cotelo, offering a bold new chapter in their evolving jazz fusion sound.
“Satisfallidos” arrives with considerable recognition already attached. The composition earned Cotelo the 1st prize in the Jazz Fusion category at the 2025 Premios Nacionales de Música, presented by Uruguay’s Instituto Nacional de Música under the Ministerio de Educación y Cultura. The award underscores the track’s artistic impact and positions it as one of the standout releases in the genre this year.
Musically, the piece is defined by its rhythmic richness, drawing deep inspiration from the Afro-Uruguayan candombe tradition. This influence shapes the track’s dynamic pulse, creating a layered rhythmic foundation that is both intricate and propulsive.

At the center of this rhythmic framework is drummer Mateo Ottonello, whose performance brings a commanding and forward-looking presence. Fresh from a recent release with acclaimed saxophonist David Binney, Ottonello continues to establish himself as a leading force in the innovation of Uruguayan music. His interplay with Rodrigo Domínguez on congas forms a complex polyrhythmic dialogue, supported by Marco Messina’s bass and Clay Wulbrecht’s piano, which together add depth and harmonic nuance.
The track also features a distinguished horn section, with Ramiro Flores on saxophone and Jeffrey Parker on trombone and trumpet, contributing expressive and expansive melodic lines. Cotelo himself performs guitars, glockenspiel, harmonium, and percussion, shaping the piece’s rich sonic identity. A notable highlight is a guest guitar solo by Daniel Barden, whose distinctive whistling tone adds a unique voice to the arrangement.
Production duties were handled by Cotelo, with audio mixing by Francisco Fattoruso and mastering by Juan Pablo Alcaro. Associate producers Luis Ravizza, Gastón Reggio, and Marco Messina also contributed to the project. The recording process spanned multiple locations, including Instru Dash Mental studios in Frankfort, Indiana; Berequetum studio in Montevideo, Uruguay; estudio Ángelo in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and sessions recorded in Tatuí, São Paulo, Brazil.
With “Satisfallidos,” #Bloomerangs not only return but reaffirm their place within contemporary jazz fusion, blending technical sophistication with a deeply rooted rhythmic identity. The single will be available worldwide on April 30.
